Mannok Honored by Deloitte for Outstanding Management Achievement
Mannok Receives Prestigious Deloitte Management Award
Mannok, the largest employer in the Ballyconnell area, employing over 800 people, has been honored with the prestigious Deloitte Management Award for 2024. This recognition comes shortly after the company’s acquisition by Turkish conglomerate Sabanci Holdings, a move that marks a significant shift in the company’s future.
Founded by Seán Quinn, Mannok has a long-standing history as a major player in the building materials and packaging industries across Ireland and the UK. Once part of Quinn’s vast business empire, the company remained resilient despite the financial crisis of 2008, which significantly impacted Quinn’s fortunes. Mannok’s operations have continued to thrive, cementing its position as a leading employer in the region.
Sabanci Holdings, through its subsidiary Cimsa, recently acquired a 94.7% stake in Mannok for €330 million. This strategic acquisition is aimed at expanding Sabanci’s footprint in both the UK and Irish markets. Despite the ownership change, the local management team retains a 5.3% stake and continues to lead the company’s operations.
“This award reflects the dedication and hard work of our team,” said the company’s CEO. “With the backing of Sabanci Holdings, we look forward to expanding our presence and furthering our sustainability goals.”
The acquisition and recognition underline Mannok’s vital role in the local economy and its bright future as a leader in the building materials secto
