
Our own Slieve Russell has earned the honour of hosting next summer's European Ladies' Team Championship, bringing 20 nations and Europe's finest amateur golfers to Ballyconnell this July.


Ballyconnell's Crust & Crumb, Ireland's largest dough-based products manufacturer, is doubling its production facility and creating 120 new jobs. The €12.5M investment will make the town's factory the most advanced pizza-making facility in Europe, cementing the company's position as west Cavan's largest Irish-owned employer.

The long-awaited completion of Ballyconnell's Daisyhill Manor estate is moving forward with plans for 16 new energy-efficient homes. The development, which has sat partially finished since the recession, will add much-needed family housing to the growing Cavan town. With construction potentially starting this summer, the first residents could move in by spring 2026, finally bringing closure to a project that began over two decades ago.
