The Final Day of the Festival: A Night to Remember
I thought that the last day of the festival would be a calm day, where we would cool down our emotions after the experiences of the past days with the sounds of the final artists performing at our festival. Nothing could be further from the truth. It was another evening full of excitement.
First, the young rockers from the band No Vendors added fuel to the fire. Their youthful rock ‘n’ roll energy brought a breath of musical freshness to the festival’s atmosphere. Unfortunately, perhaps due to the early hour or the fatigue from three days full of festival emotions, their performance took place in front of a very small audience. Their time will come.
After an hour-long break, the band One for the Road took the stage to entertain the gathered audience with their country versions of well-known hits, making the end of these four long and eventful days more enjoyable.
And when everything was calmly heading towards the end, they appeared. The juniors from Fermanagh, the winners of the All-Ireland Ladies Football Junior Championship. Holding their freshly won cup in their hands, they began to celebrate their hard-earned and well-deserved success.
What happened next can only be described in one phrase: pure madness. Absolute pandemonium. The streets of Ballyconneely were alive again until late in the evening. The memory of this year’s festival will stay with us for years to come.
