Why are teachers striking?
The action concerns delays in agreeing a new public-sector pay deal. Teaching unions have raised concerns about pay and continuing cost-of-living pressures.
The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation has directed its members to take part in strike action on 14 and 21 October.
